Training Schedule

This Qualified Rigger & Signalperson Program is in accordance with the requirements of both the federal OSHA 1926 and Cal/OSHA 1617.1-1617.3 and 1618.2.

The 8-hour course provides quality rigger and signalperson training, followed by both a written and a practical exam of the course materials. Upon successful completion of both exams, the student will receive a laminated wallet card stating that they have demonstrated the skills required by both federal OSHA and Cal/OSHA. 

Subjects to be covered include the components of rigging, rigging connections, inspection of rigging equipment, wire rope, slings, and hardware. The signalperson portion will include hand signals, voice communications, and basic understanding of crane operation and limitations. The safety standards and regulations are covered in both rigging and signalperson portions.
